Barbara Valle, coordinator of the CollembolICE project, is a naturalist and researcher at the University of Siena and the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC). She studies the taxonomy and ecology of cryophilic species, particularly in glacial and periglacial environments. She has been investigating the biodiversity of “glacier fleas” for several years.
